Magical Journey

Today was pretty good…minus the 30 minutes during my lunch time.  I got to work with the Boss all day long!  There were a lot of cute little babies, and little kids, and an awesome service dog named Diva and her person, and a precious little old lady who almost made me cry.

Two babies in particular came to visit Mickey at the same time.  The first baby was all giggles…which are always the most fun to photograph, which also got me a photo of the week a few weeks ago.  The second baby was also pretty happy, but not as giggly, but still super cute.

Diva and her person were so wonderful.  They were the last guests of that particular visit, so Mickey got to spend a little extra time with them.  We took A LOT of pictures, including the other photographer that I was giving a break to.  Diva was so excited because there were a lot of us in the room petting her (she was on a break from working of course).  I wish I could show you some of the pictures we got with her and Mickey.  :)

The precious little old lady was the most meaningful of that day for me.  She came in with two grandkids, and as she’s going up to take a picture with him she’s saying something about how grateful/happy she is to get to see him.  I can’t remember exactly what she said, but point is, she was super happy.  As they’re walking away, Mickey made sure not to let her go without getting a hug, since the kids had already gotten one and she hadn’t.  That was the moment that almost made me cry.  She started crying and saying, “Thank you. Thank you Mickey.”  As you kids say…so many feels!!!

As tired as I’ve been, it was nice to have a relaxing day…and it was also nice to be back on the DL side for a change.  I worked with some pretty cool people, met some new hosts, and got to visit with a good friend before driving home.  Tomorrow, I will back at DCA, but at a great new location.  For now, goodnight all!  :)

EDIT:  As I was writing this, I remembered that Mickey had a special meet and greet with a high profile VIP guest….and none of us recognized or knew who it was.  LOL.
